About Claymont, DE - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Claymont, Delaware is a census-designated place located in New Castle County, and as of 2010 its population was roughly 8,300. This community has served as a continuous settlement found at the mouth of the Naamans Creek since 1200 A.D. It functioned as a primarily agricultural community until the mid-19th century, at which time it began transitioning into an industrial working community. Several notable residents have called Claymont home, including Vice President Joe Biden and actress Valerie Bertinelli.

There are several notable attractions and areas of interest located in Claymont. Shopping is especially popular, and the Tri-State Mall offers a variety of unique shops and stores. Trains, Toys, and Hobbies is a great destination for people with a variety of passions, and other popular shopping destinations include Belak Flowers and Total Wine and More. The Claymont Community Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year, while the Radnor Green Park provides outdoor recreational opportunities for both visitors and Claymont residents.

Claymont is characteristic of a humid subtropical climate zone, and since the community experiences four distinct seasons during the year, residents will generally invest in both air conditioning and heating systems for their homes. Winters are cool to cold with highs in the low- to mid-30s, but temperatures will fall below the freezing point most nights. An efficient home heating system will be needed to keep interior climates safe regardless of the outdoor weather.

Summers in Claymont can be very hot and humid. While average July temperatures reach around 76 degrees Fahrenheit, the community will experience several weeks in which the daily highs surpass 90 degrees. Claymont residents will need to ensure that their home air conditioning systems are working properly before these uncomfortable weather patterns arrive, and regular system servicing can also help to keep summer energy costs affordable.
