The Fort DuPont State Park is home to the Diamond State Baseball Club, which is a vintage baseball team that plays 4-6 games here per year. Outdoor recreation can also be enjoyed at the Dragon Run Park and Battery Park. Families with young children may enjoy a trip to Cozy Quarters Farm, which offers horseback riding and provides a popular destination to host a child’s birthday party. The climate of Delaware City consists of four distinct seasons. During the summer, weather conditions are usually hot and humid, with high temperatures reaching the 90s more than 20 days per year. Delaware City residents rely on their air conditioning systems to beat the heat during the most uncomfortable conditions. Additionally, an efficient cooling system can help to improve indoor air quality, as these units will reduce allergens and dust that circulate through Delaware City businesses and homes.

Pleasant autumn weather will typically leads to a cool to cold winter. High temperatures generally reach the low-30s, but the thermostat will plummet below the freezing point most nights. To get ready for these potentially dangerous weather conditions, HVAC professionals recommend that Delaware City residents have their heat pump or furnace systems serviced ahead of time so that they will operate efficiently when needed.
