About Elsmere, DE - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in New Castle County, Delaware, Elsmere is a small town with a population of approximately 6,100. This community is also small geographically, as it consists of only one square mile of total area, all of which is land. Elsmere is served by the Red Clay Consolidated School District, but only one school is found within the community: Austin D. Baltz Elementary School. This community was the former site of the Delaware State Fair until it moved to Harrington in 1929.

Despite being small community, there are only a few notable attractions located in Elsmere. There are several outdoor recreational spaces found in the area, including Fairgrounds Park and Maple Avenue Park. Children may like to take skateboard lessons through local GoSkate.com, and the Delaware Rifle and Pistol Club may provide a great destination for firearms enthusiasts. There are also a variety of local stores and shopping opportunities located here, including Pala Brothers Furniture.

Nearby Wilmington is also home to several unique attractions that Elsmere residents can enjoy with a short car ride. Families with young children often enjoy a trip to the Delaware Children’s Museum or the Brandywine Zoo, while art enthusiasts may prefer to spend an afternoon wandering the Delaware Art Museum. Other notable area attractions include the Delaware Theatre Company and the Rockwood Museum.

Climate controls are extremely important in Elsmere, as the community will experience four distinct seasons throughout the year. Winters are usually cool to cold, with high temperatures only reaching the mid-30s, so a reliable heat pump or furnace is a necessity. Likewise, summers can be hot with high humidity, and the area will see several weeks in which high temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. A properly serviced air conditioning unit can keep homes cool, improve indoor air quality, and reduce the risk of residents suffering from heat-related illnesses.
